I want to get value to my readers and so I'm going to be answering questions I've recently received. If you have any questions, I'd love to hear from you so please contact me via email or social media.
A frequent question I'm asked by clients is "What should I do about images for my website / project?".
Normally the options come down to either hiring a photographer or choosing stock images. Both are perfectly good solutions, but if you aren't experienced in dealing with a professional photographer, it can be a daunting and expensive lesson. Hire the wrong one and you'll be stuck with a large bill and photos that you don't like.
Stock images also have their negative aspects. Often they feel very staged and can be expensive. Some sites are always worth a try, but again it's hard to know where to go if you've not used a stock image site before.
So what do I recommend?
The first and place I start is the fantastic unsplash.com. The site has a huge selection of truly breathtaking imagery on all sorts of subjects and best of all, they are all free to use and can be downloaded a high resolution files which look stunning both online and in print.
I spent 5 minutes picking out a selection of the sort of images to show what you can find at Unsplash.com.
You can see a range of creative projects that have been made with their photos here: https://madewith.unsplash.com and as they update the image library with 10 new images every day, you can be sure to find something great.
