Q: "Hi, Thad, any advice on staying focused, avoid procrastination and better time management? Thanks!"
A: Try breaking a task into smaller chunks and the tackle them in 20 minute bursts. Not only does it make it more manageable, but it allows you to focus on completing multiple jobs in succession.
Find somewhere quiet and free of distractions. Switch off all notifications, technology and go for it. Set a timer for 20 mins and batch similar tasks (emails, phone calls etc). It's easier to stay motivated if you can see regular progress.
Involve those around you and tell them what you are working on and ask them to make sure you are left alone to complete these tasks.
This sets you up for success and lets those around you what you are up to and makes you accountable to them. This accountability is the sort of thing that will help you make sure you gets things done.
